The Durham Jaycees (short for Junior Chamber) is an organization of young professionals between the ages of 21 and 40 who are dedicated to leadership development through community service. The Durham Jaycees contribute time, money, and in-kind donations to a variety of charitable organizations every year in addition to growing Jaycee members into leaders and lifelong friends. We’ve been serving the community of Durham, North Carolina, since 1938!

The Durham Jaycees is a local chapter of the North Carolina Junior Chamber and United States Junior Chamber. Other Triangle area Jaycees chapters are the Raleigh Jaycees and the Cary Jaycees.

Our Mission:
To provide young people the opportunity to develop personal and leadership skills through local community service and organizational involvement while expanding the Jaycee movement.

We Believe:
That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;
That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;
That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;
That government should be of laws rather than of men;
That earth’s great treasure lies in human personality;
That service to humanity is the best work of life!
