Information: I was born and raised in Durham, got my college degree from the University of North Carolina, and then my law degree from NC Central University. I have lived in the same 9 mile radius my whole life, which is pretty rare these days, especially for Durham and the Triangle area.

I am a solo practitioner attorney who focuses criminal defense and traffic law mostly in the Triangle area, and I sometimes go to court as far as 2 hours away, all to serve my clients. I joined the Jaycees about a year and a half ago to meet more people in the Durham area (I will admit it gets lonely sometimes in my office of one), and to give back to the community that I have called home for my whole life. My favorite Jaycees Project is a tie between the Haunted House and working Durham Bulls Baseball concessions. The Haunted House is our major fundraiser for the year, and it allows us all to bring out our creative sides in the design of a haunted house from top to bottom. Baseball concessions are fun because to be honest, I enjoy pouring beer for people, I guess that goes to my background working in restaurants.

Q: What are your favorite sports teams?
A: Carolina would be the most obvious for football and basketball, but I also love SEC football (you can't beat the tradition), especially the Tennessee Volunteers. I also like all the Pittsburgh teams, especially the Steelers since my dad grew up in that area.

Q: If you were not an attorney, what career would you have?
A: I had many interests growing up, but some that come to mind include: actor, TV news anchor, dentist, accountant, or mortician. Yes, you read it right, mortician. I know that is a case of what does not fit, but I have had an interest and curiosity about the work of those that prepare the dead for families. It is an emotional and important service, though macabre for some.

Q: When you are not doing stuff with the Jaycees in your free time, what are you doing?
A: Ok, this question sounds a bit nosy, but I will answer it anyways, wait you really are that interested in me? I'll admit, I am flattered. Anyways, I like to read a lot, I try to average a book a week, having a great public library and many used bookstores in Durham really help facilitate that. Also, I go to many live sports events (especially UNC) throughout the year, and concerts. Finally, I have about 2 or 3 film projects in production right now, either as an actor, producer, or casting agent. Film production is a hobby and passion of mine that I have been harboring since I was a teenager.

Q: If you could have dinner with anyone, past or present, who would it be?
A: This is a really tough question, because there are many people I admire present and past. However, after much consideration, I would want to dine with Thomas Jefferson. The simple reason for me is that he was the closest thing we had in this country to a true Renaissance Man. He had many skills, interests, and curiosities, and he was a Founder of our nation and former President. I would love to pick his brain about some ideas for inventions (though I guess I would have to put him up to speed on the last 190 years of technology), then really get his opinions about the wording of the Constitution, and why he wanted it so vague, and what his true intentions were.
