Happy Holidays! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday
season. Please make a note that our 2nd meeting in November will be held on November 29th --the 5th Tuesday of the month. This is due to the Thomas Center being closed for Thanksgiving on our normal meeting night. We will be holding our annual officer elections at this meeting. Positions are: President, Management Development VP, Individual Development VP, Membership VP, Community Development VP, Financial Development VP, Secretary, Treasurer, and multiple Directors. Please let us know what office you would like to run for! If you would like to get more involved this year, the best
way to do that is to be on the board. You will gain valuable project management
experience and meet some really cool people! On Monday, November 28th get your friends, family, co-workers, and anyone else you know away from the leftovers! Blue Note Grill will be giving us a percentage of their sales for anyone who mentions they are there for our community day. We will be giving the proceeds from this to Silent Birth. This charity was begun by a former Durham Jaycee and receives its ENTIRE modest annual budget from us. For more information on Silent Birth please see this article: http://nursing.advanceweb.com/Article/Silent-Birth-Helps-Grieving-Parents-2.aspx Please help us help grieving families. Bring your co-workers for lunch and/or your family for dinner! Spread the word! Just be sure to mention you are there for the Durham Jaycees Charity Day! On Friday, December 2nd
we will be dealing blackjack and roulette for a holiday party at the Hope
Valley Country Club. We will need to be there at 6:30pm for setup. We will stop
dealing at 9:30pm. Let us know if you would like to work the casino night! Our final meeting of the year will be a potluck dinner on December 13th at 6:30pm at Karen’s house near Southpoint Mall. Directions will be sent out. Don’t forget to invite friends, colleagues, neighbors, etc to visit a meeting or event. All are welcome! Service to humanity is the best WORK OF LIFE!
